My contemplation of creating a blog and to share my adventures as an Aerospace & Operational Physiologist in the United States Air Force is near fruition. My present journey in the Air Force began in early 2004, when I met with a recruiter in Walnut Creek, CA and took Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). After clearing through standardized procedures for enlistment, I flew to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX in August 2004 for basic training and then posted at Randolph AFB, TX for seven years. My next Permanent Change of Station (PCS) led me to Fairchild AFB in the evergreen state of Washington. This is the place where I was groomed and coached to join commissioned service. After earning my commission in 2015, I reported to Columbus AFB in Mississippi and learned the ins and outs of Standardized Undergraduate Pilot Training. I gained valuable insights into the field of Human Factors, physiology, accident investigation and survival. The invaluable experiences as I advanced in ranks over the years became part of this challenging and memorable journey. I hope to share this knowledge and experiences with others to promote a culture of Safety in workplaces and to motivate a future generation of young Indian Americans to enter the military service in United States of America.
